The legendary cricketer – ‘Master Blaster’ Sachin Tendulkar played like no one can stop him during his time. When the greatest batsman of all times stepped on the field, he scares even the fastest bowlers.
THE DEADLY YORKER
Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun, a 17-year-old, scared England Wicketkeeper-Batsman Jonny Bairstow with a Yorker. Arjun was bowling during England’s practice session when one of his yorkers landed straight on Bairstow’s foot. Bairstow was in extreme pain due to the injury.
Bairstow, who is 27-year-old was given an immediate first-aid. His left foot was placed in a compression unit to ease the pain. Thereafter, he got some relief from the pain.
Since the injury was not so severe, there were no restrictions on him to play the first Test against South Africa at Lord’s Cricket ground.
Arjun Tendulkar was one of the bowlers who bowled to Jonny Bairstow when the incident happened. Arjun played for Mumbai Under-14 and 16 teams. He is an all-rounder and a left-arm seamer.
Currently, England is playing the first match of the 4-match Test Series against South Africa that started on Thursday. Joe Root is captaining the English side. Meanwhile, Dean Elgar leads the Proteas in the absence of Faf du Plessis.
In fact, England holds a special place in the heart of the legendary batsman. In 1990, the 16-year-old Sachin played the masterful innings of 119 to save a Test at Old Trafford in his second appearance against the English side.
Arjun had previously bowled in England as well and received recognition & accolades for his bowling. The way this young lad is playing all his games, he is sure to uphold his father’s name as he features in the Blues.
