Son of the Indian Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, Arjun Tendulkar, impressed everyone with his splendid all-round performance in the ongoing Spirit of Cricket Global Challenge at the Bradman Oval on Thursday.
ARJUN TENDULKAR SHINES WITH HIS PERFORMANCE
In a Global T20 series organised by the Sydney Cricket Ground in Australia, Arjun blasted 48 runs off just 27 balls. He also picked up four wickets with his vicious fast bowling.
The Australian media also appreciated 18-year-old Arjun for his choice words. When asked about his experience, Arjun, reported to Australian Broadcasting Corporation,
I’m just so privileged to play on the ground named after the Bradman, it’s unbelievable.
Arjun has been performing well at the domestic level consistently. And now with this spectacular all-round performance, he has earned recognition and praise at the International level as well.
And, if we go by his recent performances, Arjun had picked up overall 18 wickets in U-19 Cooch Behar Trophy. Thereafter, he picked up 5 wickets against Madhya Pradesh and a four-for against Assam.
ARJUN TENDULKAR’S ROLE MODELS
When asked why he chose to become a fast bowler while being the son of one of the greatest batsmen, Arjun had a simple answer.
I just got stronger, grew taller and I loved bowling fast from my childhood. I thought I may as well be a quick bowler because there aren’t many in India.
Further, when asked about his role model, Arjun took the name of Australian left-arm speedster Mitchell Starc and England all-rounder, Ben Stokes.
However, when asked about his advice from his father, he said,
Papa tells just play fearlessly, play for your team, be a team man and give everything you’ve got.
I don’t take that pressure, when I bowl I just hit the deck hard on every ball and when I bat just play my shots and choose which bowlers to take on and which bowlers not to.
Finally, the enthusiastic 18-year-old said that he wants to build his career path as a cricketer on his own and not by the influence of his father name.
That’s, indeed, the stature of a good son!
