Have you ever had that thing where money seems to disappear out of your wallet or purse but you’re not quite sure if it really did? You think maybe you made a mistake and there was no money, or you left it somewhere else by mistake.
‘MOMMY BLOGGER’ RACHEL THORNHILL
Well this mom, ‘Mommy Blogger’ Rachel Thornhill, thought she was going a little mad. Money kept disappearing from her purse and she couldn’t work out how. Nobody had access to her purse, except for herself. She must be getting forgetful. It’s hard work being a mommy.
Rachel’s blog is called ‘Staying Sane as A Mummy of 3’, which is quite interesting as Rachel wasn’t feeling so sane. Where was her money? As a mommy blogger, she wrote a fair amount about this.
SO THE ‘GAME’
She found it one day quite by accident. Rachel has three kids and spends a lot of the time with them. She takes out toys daily, they all hang out playing various games in the playroom and in the kitchen, and at the end of the day, she puts everything away. Including a toy cash register.
And one day, while cleaning up and pretty exhausted, the cash register sprung open. And there was Rachel’s $90, in a series of notes and coins. It made perfect sense!
Rachel looked at little Esme, who is just 3. And Esme had the biggest smile on her face. Because for her, it was all a game. She had a cash register after all, albeit a plastic one, of course, it was meant for money!
PRETTY INVENTIVE KID
Rachel Thornhill was delighted to find her missing cash and of course, she couldn’t shout at her daughter. Esme had been pretty inventive, we think. Now, Rachel keeps her money put away carefully and Esme has play-play money to be creative with.
