If sources are to be believed, RBI will start printing new redesigned ₹100 currency notes around April next year.
Similar to the new Rs 50 and Rs 200, Rs 100 will have new designs, specifications and enhanced security features. By keeping compatibility of Automatic-Teller Machines (ATMs) in mind, size and dimensions of the new notes are unaltered
Currently, ₹100 is dispensed through ATMs across the country. As of now, among the four cassettes, or boxes, in an ATM, only one is used for ₹100 notes.
Meanwhile, the existing Rs 100 currency notes will continue to be in circulation and will be withdrawn gradually without any disruption.
