If you spend time on YouTube or any Social Media you will probably have seen photographs or video footages of starling murmurations.
A murmuration is when an astonishingly large number of starlings fly together, almost connected, weaving in and out, creating a pattern or patterns that are mesmerising to watch.
A murmuration is totally captivating.
Now a German photographer, Daniel Biber managed to capture a video footage and photographs of murmuration that are mind-blowing.
Biber has been photographing the birds for a long time. And he took nearly four days to capture the perfect shot.
Photographer Biber got the perfect moment and the results are phenomenal as you are seeing.
Biber’s photographs of starling murmurations are award winning and in fact, this spectacular one has already won him an award.
Daniel Biber explains how he drove to the same spot for days, watching the birds rise, swirl and twist, almost magically, creating one huge shape-shifting cloud.
Initially, they start off in hundreds, and then thousands, moving, twisting, flying and then becoming something almost giant like.
Bieber did not realise what he had photographed until he saw it later on his computer.
Surprisingly, this particular formation, with thousands of starlings, is exactly like that of a larger bird. What a magic!
These starlings were captured in Northeastern Spain over the Costa Brava but they are found in numerous countries.
