When we speak about beauty pageants, the first thought that comes to our mind is their flawless skin, lustrous hair, and a perfect hour-glass figure.
But for the 20-year-old Evita Delmundo, it is a challenge to take part in the Miss Universe Malaysia pageant owing to the large patches of moles covering her skin. She is a confident lady believing that her beauty lies in the moles and that she is unique in her own way.
Evita Delmundo has moles all over her body and has contested in the Miss Universe Malaysia 2018 pageant. She is confident that she will be able to get to the next round.
It’s always been a dream for me to try out for Miss Universe Malaysia. I feel like it’s a good way for me to showcase my uniqueness and newfound confidence, and hopefully, I can also inspire others.
In fact, she did not get the confidence so easily. She had to face a lot of brunts during her childhood. Her classmates called her a ‘monster’ and ‘chocolate chip cookie’. Unable to know how to deal with the situations, she was a lonely girl at school with no one to accompany her.
Then a turning point in her life occurred when she attended a church camp at the age of 16. It was then that she gained the confidence to accept herself with the moles.
She also tried to get the moles removed but the doctors said that it would be dangerous for her health. From then on, she decided to accept herself.
