People are a bit obsessed with size and while huge amounts of work are being done on body positivity, there is still the idea that everyone should be skinny. Well, ‘Fat Girls Travelling’ is changing all of that and their Instagram account is beyond fabulous.
Not only will ‘Fat Girls Travelling’ make you feel good about your body but they’ll make you want to travel all around the world, and quickly.
FAT GIRLS TRAVELLING
There are a lot of travel blogs out there and a lot of travel Instagram accounts as well. This one is different and it’s fantastic.
The chubby girls travel, have the best time, go to the most beautiful and amazing places and are super-confident. The girls are confident about what they do, how they do it and are also confident about their size.
We love the fact that ‘Fat Girls Travelling’ don’t use words like skinny or plus size or perfect. Instead, they use words like natural, real, happy and gorgeous.
They smile, show off the curves and they don’t pretend. Besides, they are happy for who they are, comfortable in their skin, and they encourage you to be the same.
As you see, it’s all about being REAL. Do you feel the confidence heading into your heart?
Their Instagram account is not about posed pictures showing only their good angles or women sucking in their stomachs, using fake tan and having fake boobs. In fact, their Instagram account is fun, funky, real and beautiful. Not just them but also the amazing and interesting places they visit.
‘Fat Girls Travelling’ was started by Annette Richmond, who oozes health and happiness, confidence and style.
Richmond is fat and she doesn’t pretend otherwise. Further, Annette travels the world and works as a digital nomad -blogging and using social media wherever she is. She has met astonishing people on her travels, large and small, black and white, local and foreign.
Speaking on the need for the body positivity account, Richmond told,
People living in bigger bodies are often shamed because of it, making travel even more uncomfortable. People have a lot of anxiety about this stuff, and it’s nice to have a community where we can talk about it and encourage each other and let them know, like, Girl, the person that’s snoring is going to be worse [to sit next to than] someone who’s a little fluffy.
Annette is all about inclusivity, confidence and loving yourself for who you are, no matter your size. Richmond is overweight and fabulous and definitely inspiring. She loves to travel and her weight is certainly not getting in her way.
So the moral, you should have got by now, We all need to stop judging people by how they look.
If you know someone who loves to travel, share this article with them. And if you know people who are overweight and perhaps have a hang-up or two, share this article with them too.
