Art is personal. The artists may mean one thing while the viewer sees another. Art is what keeps us going in the world, it embodies our own creative spirit, it makes us see things differently and to understand things differently. And most importantly, art gives us pleasure. Art is beautiful especially these creations by Illusdreamer.
TREASURE THE ART
Art should never be destroyed. It may be impossible to keep every one of your young child’s artworks but you should keep some of the special ones. And any decent artwork should be treasured and valued. If you like something, keep it.
But for this group of artists called Illusdreamer, their work is erased at the end of every single day. Yes, Illusdreamer creates and their teacher rubs it out.
Erased! How is this possible you may ask, especially as you can see here, their work is so extraordinary. Each of their artworks should be permanent, hanging up in a gallery even.
Illusdreamer is a group of art students from the Senegal High School in Hong Kong. They create huge artwork on classroom blackboard every day, in a variety of colours and a variety of designs. Each one is amazing.
But at the end of the day, the teacher takes out his chalk duster and wipes them off the chalkboard.
The student’s work is fairly contemporary and animated. They draw inspiration from Miyazaki’s Movies, a Japanese film director, so their art has a definite theme.
They’ve been drawing like this since 2016 and we’re not quite sure how they feel about their work being erased.
Perhaps they like the idea of their art being ‘temporary’. Or perhaps they’re waiting for a more permanent chalkboard!
Either way, this group of students have astonishing talent and one day these drawings should be permanent and hung on our walls. Or at the very least, in a very important museum or gallery.
