Uber is already one of the most widely used apps for transport and has revolutionized the way people travel, around the world. In a few weeks, 4 of Uber new features will hit the Indian market and depending on their success, they will roll them out worldwide.
Uber traditionally relies on the use of Smartphones. Customers download the Uber app available for Android and iOS on to their Smartphone, then push a button for their ride.
But what if you don’t have a Smartphone? What if you don’t have enough data or your internet connection is terrible?
And what if you want to organize a ride for your child but they’re in a different area without a Smartphone?
This is where Uber’s new features come in to play.
UBER NEW FEATURES
1. WEB BASED APP

The second of Uber’s new features is a ‘Call to Ride’ feature.
This is a bit like the olden days when you would use the phone to book a taxi ride. This Uber feature is an offline feature, also for users without a Smartphone.

Locations can be tagged, the Uber driver can be tagged and bookings can be taken. Payments are by cash only.
For now, the ‘Call to Ride’ feature is a pilot programme and is available only in Pune at the moment. If it proves to be successful, Uber will extend.
3. POOR CONNECTIVITY RIDE
And then we come to poor connectivity. Uber wants to be able to offer a service where internet connection is bad. This means there is an offline list of popular areas within a city or suburb. These areas will be entered on the app, the Uber app will automatically understand connectivity is bad and will adjust accordingly.
The ‘Poor Connectivity’ ride will be activated in a couple of weeks.
4. BOOK FOR A GUEST
The fourth of Uber’s new features is here you can request an Uber for a guest. This service is already offered in some countries and by Uber’s competitors. It’s one of the easiest.
